What We Believe

Mission Statement:
Here at White Road, our mission is to preach Christ, teach the Bible, and serve one another in love.

  • Our Beliefs:

  • Bible

The Bible: It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error. (2 Peter 1:20-21)

  • TriuneGod-icon

Triune God: There is one God, and only one, living and true. He is an intelligent, spiritual and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver and Ruler of the universe. The eternal and triune God reveals himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with different personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being.

  • GodtheFather

God the Father: There is only one true and living God and He exists in three persons. God reigns with sovereign care over His universe and is all-powerful and all-knowing. God is Father to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. (John 14:6-7)

  • GodtheSon-icon

God the Son: Christ is the eternal Son of God who lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days and conquered sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return to earth as King of kings & Lord of lords. (Matthew 3:17)

  • GodtheSpirit

God the Holy Spirit: He is present in the world to make humans aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with understanding of Scripture and with the power to do what is right. (John 14:26)

  • Man

Man: We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Because God created man in His own image, we believe that every person is worthy of dignity and respect. Ever since Adam & Eve disobeyed God, the human race has been marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This sin separates man from God. (Acts 17:26-27)

  • Salvation

Salvation: God offers salvation freely to all who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior. Salvation occurs when there is a change of heart, when the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, and when we respond in repentance toward God. There is no salvation apart from faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:9)

  • Church_Iglesia

Church: A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local and autonomous congregation of baptized believers, associated in a covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, who try to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. Each congregation acts under the lordship of Jesus Christ through democratic processes. In such a congregation, each member is responsible for giving an account to the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22-23)

  • Family_familia

Family: God has ordained the family as the fundamental institution of human society. It is made up of people related by marriage, blood or adoption. Marriage is the union of a man and a woman in a covenant of commitment for life. It is the unique gift of God to reveal the union between Christ and His church. Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and inheritance from the Lord. Parents should strive to show their children God's model for marriage. (Genesis 2:18, 24)

Baptism

Baptism

Baptism is a public declaration that you have received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Baptism does not save you, but shows the world that you have already been saved. It is a biblical command and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ. (Matthew 28:19)

EvangelismMissions-icon

Evangelism & Missions

It is the duty and privilege of every believer to make disciples of all nations. Every child of God should constantly seek to win the lost for Christ by verbal witness accompanied by a Christian lifestyle. (Matthew 28:19)

  • History_Historia

    Our History:

More than 40 years ago, our church was established in the heart of East San Jose. In 1976 two churches came together: El Templo Bautista and Twenty-First Street Baptist Church. The two formed what is now known as White Road Baptist Church. Since our inception, we have been an independent church under Christ and the Bible, but affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. We are still growing under the grace of God and are always looking for ways to love and serve Christ and our neighbor.
